Project and bid evaluation play a critical prior to the award of a project. However, the emphasis in this step is not only on getting things done, rather getting them done in a proper manner. It is imperative that the evaluation criteria list the appropriate technical and financial pre-requisites that best meet the project to be implemented. These criteria should be established in a way to support transparency, value for money and integrity in the procurement process in a way to support technical viability.

Learning Outcomes:

• Evaluation of cost using a methodology that is appropriate to the nature of the procurement
• Valuation of quality using a methodology to determine the degree to which the Goods, Works, Non-consulting Services or Consulting Services meet or exceed the requirements
• Criteria that mitigate the relevant assessed risk
• Evaluation of bid to select the appropriate bidder.
