Take action
Take action
The Climate and Clean Air Coalition’s (CCAC) initiative “Mitigating Short-Lived Climate Pollutants from the Municipal Solid Waste Sector,” (MSW Initiative) brings cities together to address methane, black carbon, and other air pollutants emissions from the waste management sector, supporting them with outreach and technical support.
If your city is interested in being involved and you would like an invitation to join from the initiative then reach out to the Initiative contact listed in the CCAC Waste Initiative page.
How do cities participate?
The CCAC MSW program of action brings together technical experts and policy-makers at all levels of government and cities to learn, plan and take action. Participation in the Initiative provides the necessary tools and resources as well as technical advice to enable cities to improve waste management efforts.
Participating City
Cities that participate in the Initiative become a part of this Initiative’s network of leaders, and have access to direct technical assistance, training and capacity building activities. Participating Cities are also encouraged to share lessons learned and best practices, and participate in regional trainings and workshops.
In addition to these tools and resources, some cities may be eligible for direct assistance from the CCAC, meaning that a CCAC Implementing Partner or Actor will guide your city through the program of action every step of the way and support your city to attend in-person workshops and exchange events.
Mentor City
Cities that are leading and advanced in waste management can participate in the Initiative by working with the CCAC to identify opportunities for new action at home, mentor other cities in the network, share lessons learned and best practices from their own experiences, and participate in regional trainings and workshops. Mentoring of other cities is supported through the city exchange program.
